In a shocking turn of events, the local school board has announced it will no longer move forward with its plan to replace teachers with ChatGPT after a student allegedly developed an “inappropriate relationship” with their school-issued laptop. The initiative, originally pitched as a way to reduce costs and avoid teacher-related scandals, has now been scrapped after an unexpected, and somewhat disturbing, series of events.

“At least with ChatGPT, we thought students wouldn’t have to worry about inappropriate relationships,” said board president Acka D. Mia during a hastily organized press conference. “We clearly underestimated how much teenagers might fall in love with anything that has a screen.”

The controversy started when a senior at a local admitted to “doing it” with their school laptop. “It just started out as a joke,” the student confessed. “But then, ChatGPT just really understood me. It listens, it doesn’t judge, and honestly, it’s better than any person I’ve met. I didn’t think this could happen with a computer, but here we are.”

The confession sent shockwaves through the district. “This is obviously a misuse of school property,” Mia said, visibly flustered. “But it also raises questions we never even thought to ask, like ‘Does ChatGPT have boundaries?’ and ‘Can it refuse affection?’”

Parents have reacted with a mixture of confusion and concern. “I thought replacing teachers with AI was a smart idea,” said Amy Concerned, a local mother. “But now I’m wondering what my kids are doing with their tablets. Last week, my daughter called her phone ‘sweetheart’, and I’m not sure how to respond.”

Some parents, however, have shrugged off the scandal. “Honestly, it’s better than the kid spending all day on TikTok,” said Ded (Eddy) Beat, a father of two. “If they’re getting attached to technology, at least it’s educational. Sort of.”
